Coast woman in pin-up final

IN REAL life, she's known as Charne Louise, but in front of the camera, she becomes Miss Lolita Star and steps back into the 1950s.

The 29-year-old is a finalist in the Miss Va VaVoom section of the Miss Pin Up Australia which will be held at the Surf 'N' Ink tattoo convention later this month.

She's always been surrounded by the 1950s way of life growing up, and with her mum still dressing up at the age of 73 and her dad a classic cars man, it was only a natural progression that it would be part of her life too.

Louise, who works in a retro shop in Coolangatta and also as the musical director at Dracula's, said she was excited to be in the final of the competition which is the first of its kind since the 1950s.

"It's a hobby for me now and it's been fun even if I don't win," she said.

The competition is broken up in five categories: Miss Perfect Pinup, Miss Illustrated Pinup, Miss Classic Pinup, Miss VaVaVoom Pinup and Miss Popularity Pinup.

The Surf 'N' Ink convention will be held from January 21 to 23.
